Dispatch, Part 2: Life with Civil Strife
It’s a really bizarre scene when you step back, demonstrators and federal police in riot gear taking turns hurling and slingshoting rocks and chunks of concrete at each other. Low-level conflicts like the one happening right now Oaxaca can give you a good feel for what life on the ground is really like there, thanks to YouTube and the explosion of online video, like this one courtesy of IndyMedia – it’s 11 minutes from the 7-hour battle for the University Radio Station.
