Trip Logue: Four Corners Day 3 – Moab / Arches
Pulling into Moab is a little bit like adventure overload. Where to start? Biking on the Slickrock trail, running the canyons of the Colorado, climbing in Arches, exploring the Canyonlands, skydiving, the list never ends… And to make it all the more overwhelming, all the above activities can be done almost anywhere within a fifty-mile radius of the town.
As we pulled our mighty van into town, I was looking over some of the assorted tourist material and said something to Jo along the lines of “this place must be like a gearheads’ paradise.” Not thirty seconds later we pulled into a local merchant to pick up some maps and other supplies. The name of this establishment? You guessed it: Gearheads.
Our original plan for our two and a half days here was to do a whirlwind tour of Arches and Canyonlands in one day and then hit the Slickrock trail the second day. We hit Arches early in the morning, and it soon became clear: she is not a wham, bam, thank you ma’am type of lady. In fact, by the end of the day, she would have ridden both of US hard to be put away soaking wet. Photos and more to follow…
